Triethyl phosphate manufacturers

Triethyl Phosphate (TEP) is primarily used as a high-boiling solvent, a flame retardant for plastics and resins, and an intermediate in organic synthesis. It is frequently utilized in the production of polyurethane foam, unsaturated polyester resins, and as a catalyst in the synthesis of ketene. Its role as a viscosity reducer in various resin systems makes it a critical component for industrial manufacturing.

Buyers should focus on purity levels (typically ≥99.5%), acid value (≤0.05 mg KOH/g), and moisture content (≤0.1%). The refractive index and color (APHA/Hazen) are also vital indicators of quality. Ensure the supplier provides a detailed Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch to guarantee consistency in chemical performance.

As a chemical product, TEP must be accompanied by a comprehensive Safety Data Sheet (SDS/MSDS) compliant with the GHS (Globally Harmonized System). For international trade, ensure the product meets REACH registration requirements if exporting to the EU. It should be handled according to standard chemical safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and storage in cool, dry, well-ventilated areas away from incompatible substances.

Standard packaging for TEP includes 200kg galvanized iron drums, IBC tanks (1000kg), or ISO tanks for large-scale liquid transport. The packaging must be hermetically sealed to prevent moisture absorption and contamination. Ensure all containers are labeled with UN numbers and appropriate hazard symbols as per international maritime or air transport regulations.

Prioritize Audited Suppliers who have undergone third-party verification by agencies like SGS, Bureau Veritas, or TÜV Rheinland. Check their business license, export permits for chemicals, and ISO 9001 certification. Reviewing their transaction history and buyer feedback on the platform provides insight into their fulfillment capabilities.

The primary risks include leakage, contamination, and customs delays due to improper documentation. Mitigate these by using experienced freight forwarders specializing in chemical logistics. Ensure all shipping marks are clear and that the Commercial Invoice, Packing List, and Bill of Lading accurately reflect the chemical's technical name and classification.

Negotiations should be based on volume-based pricing tiers and raw material market trends (such as phosphorus and ethanol prices). Requesting FOB (Free On Board) pricing allows for better control over shipping costs. For long-term partnerships, discuss annual contract pricing to hedge against market volatility and ensure a stable supply chain.

For new suppliers, utilize Letter of Credit (L/C) or Escrow services provided by the platform to ensure payment is only released upon proof of shipment. For established relationships, Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) with a deposit (e.g., 30% upfront, 70% against B/L) is common. Always perform due diligence before transferring large sums.
