Prado headlights manufacturers

The Toyota Prado has multiple generations (e.g., 90, 120, 150, and the new 250 series). It is critical to verify the OEM part number and the specific production year. For the 150 series, note that there are significant differences between the 2010-2013, 2014-2017, and 2018-2023 facelifts. Always confirm if the vehicle is Left-Hand Drive (LHD) or Right-Hand Drive (RHD), as the light beam pattern must comply with local road safety laws to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.

LED headlights are the current industry standard for B2B sourcing due to their low power consumption, 30,000+ hour lifespan, and superior brightness (6000K cool white). Halogen remains the most cost-effective option for older model replacements, while Xenon (HID) offers high intensity but requires ballasts, which increases the failure rate. For premium upgrades, look for units with integrated cooling fans and high-quality COB or CSP LED chips.

Prioritize headlights with an IP67 or IP68 waterproof rating to prevent internal fogging and moisture ingress. The lens should be made of UV-coated Polycarbonate (PC) to prevent yellowing and cracking under intense sunlight. Ensure the housing is made of heat-resistant ABS or PP plastic. For high-end markets, look for 'Plug and Play' harnesses that do not require cutting original vehicle wires, preserving the vehicle's warranty.

For the North American market, products must be DOT (Department of Transportation) and SAE certified. For Europe and many other regions, E-Mark (ECE) certification is mandatory. Sourcing products without these marks can lead to customs seizures or the inability for the end-user to pass vehicle inspections. Always request photographic proof of the certification marks stamped on the headlight housing.

Automotive lighting is fragile. Insist on Five-Layer Corrugated Cartons with custom-fit EPE foam or air-column bags that immobilize the headlight. For bulk LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments, products should be palletized and shrink-wrapped to prevent crushing. Request a drop test report from the supplier before the first major shipment.

Focus on warranty terms and defect rates rather than just the unit price. A professional supplier on Made-in-China.com should offer a 12 to 24-month warranty. Negotiate a 1-2% spare parts allowance (extra bulbs or clips) included in the bulk price to cover minor shipping damages or initial defects, which reduces the need for small-scale international returns.

Look for 'Audited Suppliers' who have undergone third-party inspections by organizations like SGS, Bureau Veritas, or TÜV Rheinland. Check their production capacity and whether they specialize in Toyota accessories. A supplier with a dedicated R&D team is more likely to provide accurate fitment for the latest Prado models.

Use Secured Payment services provided by the platform to ensure funds are only released after the shipping documents are verified. For large orders, consider a Pre-shipment Inspection (PSI) to verify that the quantity, quality, and OEM-style packaging meet your requirements before the final balance is paid.
