Plastic counting tray manufacturers

The tray should be made of medical-grade ABS or Polystyrene (PS) plastic. These materials ensure the tray is non-toxic, odorless, and durable. For pharmaceutical use, it is critical that the surface is smooth and non-absorbent to prevent cross-contamination between different medications. Additionally, look for BPA-free certifications to ensure safety compliance.

A professional counting tray must include an ergonomic spatula that fits the tray's contours. Key features include a dual-channel design (one for pouring pills back into the bottle and one for dispensing into the prescription vial) and a clear hinged cover for the collection channel to prevent pills from falling out. Anti-skid rubber feet on the bottom are also essential to provide stability during high-volume counting tasks.

Suppliers should provide evidence of FDA registration for the US market or CE marking for the European Union. Since these are often used in pharmacies, ensuring the manufacturer follows ISO 13485 (Medical Devices Quality Management Systems) is a significant indicator of production consistency and safety.

Request the supplier to provide a chemical resistance report, specifically regarding isopropyl alcohol, as these trays are frequently sanitized. The plastic should not cloud, crack, or become brittle after repeated cleaning. Furthermore, the hinge mechanism of the dispensing channel should be tested for at least 10,000 opening/closing cycles.

Plastic trays are prone to cracking under pressure. You should mandate 5-layer corrugated export cartons and ensure each tray is individually wrapped in bubble polybags. For bulk orders, request palletization with corner protectors and shrink wrap to prevent box crushing during sea freight.

Focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) rather than just the unit price. Negotiate for customized logo printing (OEM) included in the price for orders over 1,000 units. Ask for a tiered pricing structure where the price drops by 10-15% as you move from 500 to 5,000 units, and request a pre-shipment inspection (PSI) clause in the contract.

Always use Secured Payment services provided by the platform to ensure funds are only released after you confirm receipt of goods. Avoid direct wire transfers to private accounts. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) clearly states the material composition (e.g., 100% Virgin ABS) and the exact weight of the tray to prevent suppliers from using cheaper, thinner plastics.

Classify the product correctly under HS Code 3926.90 (Other articles of plastics). Be aware that some countries may classify these as medical accessories, requiring specific import licenses. Work with a freight forwarder experienced in DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms if you want to avoid the complexity of local customs clearance and unexpected import taxes.
