Mulberry leaf extract manufacturers

When sourcing Mulberry Leaf Extract, the primary active compound to verify is 1-Deoxynojirimycin (1-DNJ), which is typically standardized to 1%, 2%, or 5% via HPLC testing. Additionally, check for Flavonoids and Polysaccharides content. Ensure the extract ratio (e.g., 10:1 or 20:1) aligns with your formulation needs and confirm the particle size (usually 80-100 mesh) for optimal solubility and blending.

Suppliers must provide a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch. For food and supplement grades, look for ISO 22000 or HACCP certifications. If exporting to the US, FDA registration and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance are essential. For European markets, ensure the product meets REACH regulations and PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) limits. Organic certifications (USDA or EU Organic) are highly recommended for premium positioning.

Request a Heavy Metal test report (Lead, Arsenic, Mercury, Cadmium) and a Microbiological profile (Total Plate Count, Yeast & Mold, E. coli). High-quality extracts should have low pesticide residues meeting EP or USP standards. Always ask for a pre-shipment sample to test for solvent residues (like Ethanol) and to ensure the color (typically brownish-yellow to fine green powder) and odor are consistent with the botanical source.

Mulberry Leaf Extract is widely used in Dietary Supplements for blood sugar management, Functional Foods (such as herbal teas and meal replacements), and Cosmetics for its skin-whitening and antioxidant properties. Understanding the application helps in choosing the right carrier (like Maltodextrin) and the appropriate solubility grade (water-soluble vs. non-soluble).

Utilize Trade Security services provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com to ensure payment safety. Always conduct Third-Party Factory Audits (such as SGS or Intertek) to verify the supplier's production capacity. Avoid making full payments upfront; a standard 30% deposit and 70% balance against the Bill of Lading (B/L) is a common and safer practice.

Negotiate based on Volume Tiers; bulk orders exceeding 500kg to 1 ton usually trigger significant discounts of 10-20%. Discuss Long-term Supply Agreements to lock in prices, as botanical raw material costs can fluctuate with harvest seasons. Request OEM/Private Labeling services if you require custom packaging, which can be more cost-effective when done at the source.

Mulberry Leaf Extract is hygroscopic and sensitive to light. Ensure the supplier uses double-layer plastic bags inside fiber drums with vacuum sealing. For international shipping, specify Cool and Dry storage conditions. Compare FOB (Free On Board) and CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) terms; while CIF is convenient, FOB gives you more control over shipping costs and customs clearance agents.

Verify the HS Code (typically 130219) to determine accurate import tariffs in your country. Ensure all Phytosanitary Certificates are included in the shipping documents to prevent customs delays. Be aware of Anti-dumping duties or specific botanical import restrictions that may apply to plant extracts from certain regions.
