Matcha set manufacturers

A complete professional set must include a Chawan (Matcha Bowl), a Chasen (Bamboo Whisk), a Chashaku (Bamboo Scoop), and a Kusenaoshi (Whisk Holder). For B2B buyers, ensuring the Chasen has 80-120 prongs is critical for achieving the desired 'micro-foam' texture required by specialty cafes and tea enthusiasts.

Since these products come into direct contact with hot liquids, ensure the ceramic bowls are lead-free and cadmium-free, complying with FDA (US) or LFGB (EU) standards. For bamboo components, verify that they are natural, unvarnished, and free from chemical bleaching agents to prevent off-gassing or flavor contamination.

The bowl should have a flat bottom and high walls to prevent splashing during vigorous whisking. A diameter of 11cm to 13cm is standard. For high-end markets, look for hand-glazed Raku or Mino-yaki styles, which provide the thermal mass necessary to keep the tea warm while remaining comfortable to hold.

For high-frequency use in cafes, the Chasen must be made from aged bamboo to prevent cracking. The Kusenaoshi (holder) is non-negotiable for commercial buyers as it maintains the shape of the whisk prongs, extending the product's lifespan by up to 40%.

Ceramic Chawans are highly fragile. You must mandate 5-layer corrugated outer cartons and custom-fit EPE foam or molded pulp inserts for each set. Avoid using simple bubble wrap for bulk shipments. Request a drop test report (ISTA 1A or 2A) from the supplier before finalizing the shipping method.

Focus on moisture content control. Negotiate a requirement that bamboo components must have a moisture level below 12% to prevent mold growth during long-term sea transit. Additionally, ask for volume-based discounts, as Matcha sets often see a 15-25% price drop when moving from 100 units to 1,000 units.

Many countries require a Fumigation Certificate for wooden and bamboo products to prevent the spread of pests. Ensure your supplier on Made-in-China.com can provide this documentation. Failure to provide a valid certificate can lead to customs seizure or mandatory quarantine fees at the port of entry.

Always use secure payment systems provided by reputable platforms like Made-in-China.com, which offer escrow-like services. Never wire full payments to private bank accounts. Utilize Third-Party Inspection (TPI) services to verify the quality and quantity of the goods at the factory before the final balance is paid.
