Jis screwdriver set manufacturers

The JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) screwdriver is designed with a smaller tip radius and sharper corners compared to the Phillips standard. While they look similar, a Phillips driver is designed to 'cam out' (slip out) under high torque to prevent over-tightening, whereas a JIS driver is designed to stay seated in the screw head. Using a Phillips driver on a JIS screw (commonly found on Japanese motorcycles and electronics) will likely strip the screw head.

Buyers should look for blades made of S2 Tool Steel or Chrome Vanadium (Cr-V) with a hardness rating of HRC 58-62 to ensure longevity. The tips should be precision-machined (not just molded) and ideally feature a magnetic tip or black-oxide finish for better grip and corrosion resistance. For automotive use, a 'Go-Thru' (striking) design where the steel shank extends through the handle is essential for loosening rusted fasteners.

Products should strictly adhere to the JIS B 4633 standard for cross-recessed screwdrivers. For electrical applications, ensure the sets meet VDE or IEC 60900 standards, certifying insulation up to 1000V. If exporting to the EU, verify REACH and RoHS compliance for the plastic and rubber materials used in the ergonomic handles.

Prioritize dual-material handles (PP+TPR) which provide a non-slip grip even when hands are oily. For high-torque requirements, look for handles with a hexagonal bolster at the base of the blade, allowing the use of a wrench for additional leverage. A swivel-top cap is a key requirement for precision/electronics JIS sets to allow for rapid rotation.

Request a technical drawing showing the tip geometry and a sample for fit-testing on a known JIS screw (like those on a Shimano derailleur or Honda engine). Genuine JIS tools often feature a small dot or 'X' mark on the screw head they are meant for, and reputable suppliers on Made-in-China.com should provide third-party inspection reports (SGS/TUV) confirming the tip dimensions match JIS B 4633.

Screwdriver sets are heavy and dense, making them prone to packaging failure during sea freight. Ensure the supplier uses double-corrugated export cartons and internal blow-molded cases that secure each tool. To prevent oxidation during long-distance transit, insist on VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) bags or a light oil coating on the steel shanks.

Focus on the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Negotiate for custom branding (OEM) via laser etching, which adds value for your brand at a low marginal cost. Ask for a tiered pricing structure where the unit price drops by 15-20% when moving from 500 to 2,000 sets, and request a 1-2% spare parts allowance to cover any potential handle defects in high-volume shipments.

Utilize Trade Assurance services provided by Made-in-China.com to protect your payment until delivery. Ensure the Proforma Invoice (PI) explicitly states the HS Code (typically 8205.40) and the specific steel grade (e.g., S2 Steel). This prevents the supplier from substituting cheaper materials and ensures correct customs duty classification in the destination country.
