Halosulfuron methyl manufacturers

Halosulfuron Methyl is a selective systemic herbicide typically available in 95% TC (Technical Concentrate) or formulated as 75% WDG (Water Dispersible Granules). Buyers must verify the active ingredient content through HPLC testing. Key physical properties to monitor include moisture content (typically <0.5%) and pH stability (range 5.0-8.0) to ensure the chemical does not degrade during storage.

It is highly effective for controlling annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and sedges, particularly Nutgrass (Cyperus rotundus). It is widely used in corn (maize), sugarcane, rice, and turf grass. Buyers should ensure the formulation is compatible with the specific crop growth stage to avoid phytotoxicity, especially in sensitive vegetable crops.

Suppliers must provide a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for every batch. For international trade, ensure the manufacturer complies with FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) standards. If importing to the EU or USA, verify REACH registration or EPA approval status to avoid customs seizures.

For WDG formulations, moisture-proof packaging is critical; typically, 25kg fiber drums with PE inner bags or 1kg aluminum foil bags are used. Storage must be in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse away from seeds, fertilizers, and food. The shelf life is generally 2 years under proper conditions.

The biggest risk is regulatory non-compliance. Pesticides are highly regulated; you must ensure the supplier is a registered pesticide exporter and that the product is registered in the destination country. Failure to provide a Pesticide Import/Export Registration Management Certificate can lead to heavy fines and cargo destruction.

Utilize Made-in-China.com's Secured Trading Service to protect your payments. Before shipping, hire a third-party inspection agency like SGS or Intertek to perform random sampling and lab testing to confirm the purity levels match the contract specifications.

Halosulfuron Methyl is often classified under UN 3077 (Environmentally Hazardous Substance, Solid). You must use a freight forwarder experienced in Dangerous Goods (DG) handling. Ensure the supplier provides the DGD (Dangerous Goods Declaration) and that the vessel booking is made well in advance, as many carriers have limited space for DG cargo.

Prices are heavily influenced by the cost of raw materials (intermediates) and environmental protection policies in China. It is recommended to monitor the price trends of urea and phosphorus and negotiate based on volume-based tiers. For orders exceeding 5 tons, aim for a 5-10% discount compared to spot market prices.
