Ferro titanium price manufacturers

Ferro Titanium prices are primarily driven by Titanium content (typically 30%, 35%, or 70%) and impurity levels. High-grade FeTi (70% Ti) is essential for aerospace and high-strength steel, while lower grades are used for deoxidation and stabilization in stainless steel. You must verify the Al, V, C, and S content, as high levels of impurities can significantly lower the price but compromise the mechanical properties of the final alloy.

Buyers should focus on particle size distribution (mesh size), as this affects the recovery rate and melting speed in the furnace. Ensure the supplier provides a Chemical Analysis Certificate (COA) for every batch. For specialized applications, check for low-oxygen and low-nitrogen grades, which command a premium price but are critical for preventing brittleness in high-performance alloys.

The product should adhere to international standards such as ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) or ISO 5454. Ensure the supplier is ISO 9001 certified for quality management. For shipments to Europe, compliance with REACH regulations is mandatory to ensure the chemical substances are registered and safe for industrial use.

Ferro Titanium produced via induction furnace melting generally offers higher purity and better homogeneity compared to the aluminothermic reduction process. While induction-melted FeTi may have a higher initial price, its consistent recovery rate often leads to lower overall production costs by reducing waste and ensuring batch-to-batch stability.

The most significant risks include weight discrepancies and grade substitution. To mitigate this, always insist on third-party inspection (such as SGS or CCIC) at the loading port to verify the actual weight and chemical composition before final payment. Additionally, be wary of prices significantly below the London Metal Exchange (LME) or market averages, as they often indicate sub-standard scrap-based material.

Since Ferro Titanium is a commodity, prices fluctuate with raw material costs (Titanium scrap and Ferro-Silicon). Negotiate a formula-based pricing model linked to market indices or secure fixed-price contracts for short-term deliveries. For long-term partnerships, request transparency in the cost structure, including energy surcharges and logistics fees.

Use Letters of Credit (L/C) or Trade Assurance services on Made-in-China.com to protect your funds until the goods are verified. For shipping, Ferro Titanium is heavy and dense; ensure it is packed in moisture-proof big bags (1mt) or steel drums to prevent oxidation. Choose FOB or CIF terms based on your ability to manage maritime insurance, as the high value of the cargo necessitates comprehensive transit insurance coverage.
