Canned oxygen manufacturers

Buyers must prioritize oxygen purity levels, which should typically be 95% to 99.5% for recreational or wellness use. The canister material should be high-grade aluminum to ensure pressure resistance and prevent corrosion. Additionally, verify the actuator (mask/nozzle) design for ergonomic ease of use and the internal coating of the can to ensure the oxygen remains odorless and uncontaminated.

Since canned oxygen is a pressurized gas, it must comply with UN3156 (Compressed Gas, Oxidizing) regulations for transport. Suppliers should provide CE marking for the European market or FDA registration for the U.S. market if marketed for health benefits. Ensure the manufacturer holds ISO 13485 (Medical Devices) or ISO 9001 (Quality Management) to guarantee production consistency and safety.

Canned oxygen is usually measured in liters of breathable oxygen (e.g., 5L, 10L, or 12L) rather than the physical volume of the can. For high-altitude tourism or sports recovery, a higher capacity (10L+) is preferred. For daily wellness or office use, compact 2L-5L cans are more portable. Check the number of inhalations (puffs) provided, which typically ranges from 50 to 200 inhalations per unit.

Request a Pressure Leakage Test report to ensure the canisters do not leak during long-term storage. Conduct batch testing for purity using an oxygen analyzer. It is also critical to verify the shelf life, which is usually 2 to 3 years; ensure the production date is within 3 months of the shipping date to maximize inventory turnover time.

Canned oxygen is classified as Class 2.2 (Non-flammable gas) or Class 2.5 (Oxidizing gas) under the IMDG code. The primary risk is customs seizure or shipping rejection if the goods are not declared as Dangerous Goods (DG). You must ensure the supplier provides a valid MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) and a Dangerous Goods Declaration to avoid heavy fines or disposal of the cargo.

For OEM/Private Label orders, MOQs usually start at 5,000 to 10,000 units due to the lithographic printing process on aluminum cans. Negotiate for staged deliveries if you have limited storage for DG items. Always ask for a sample of the mask and valve mechanism before placing a bulk order, as these are the most common points of mechanical failure.

Use Secured Trading Services on Made-in-China.com to protect your funds. Do not release the final 70% balance until a third-party pre-shipment inspection has verified the quantity, pressure levels, and packaging integrity. Ensure the contract specifies that the supplier is responsible for proper DG packaging (e.g., UN-certified cartons) to prevent accidents during transit.

Due to the pressurized nature, Air Freight is highly restricted and expensive for canned oxygen. Sea Freight (LCL or FCL) is the most economically feasible method. Ensure your freight forwarder is experienced in handling DG containers. For the U.S. and Europe, ensure the outer packaging is clearly labeled with the appropriate UN numbers and hazard diamonds to comply with local DOT or ADR regulations.
