Basketball set manufacturers

For the backboard, prioritize tempered glass (typically 8mm-12mm thickness) for professional rebound performance or polycarbonate for shatterproof durability in outdoor settings. The rim should feature a breakaway spring system to absorb impact during dunks and protect the backboard. For the pole, look for powder-coated steel with a minimum thickness of 3mm to ensure rust resistance and structural stability under high-intensity play.

Ensure the products comply with EN 1270 (European standard for basketball equipment) or ASTM F1882 (Standard Safety Specification for Residential Basketball Systems). If the set includes the basketball itself, verify FIBA approval for size, weight, and bounce consistency. For chemical safety in coatings and plastics, ensure compliance with REACH (EU) or CPSIA (US), especially if the product is intended for youth use.

Confirm that all metal components have undergone hot-dip galvanization or high-grade UV-resistant powder coating to prevent corrosion. The net should be made of heavy-duty nylon or zinc-plated steel chain to withstand rain and sunlight. Additionally, check if the padding (pole and backboard) uses high-density EPE foam with a waterproof PVC cover to prevent water absorption and degradation.

Prioritize height-adjustable mechanisms (typically ranging from 7.5ft to 10ft) using a crank handle or gas-spring system to accommodate different age groups. For portable units, ensure the base has a capacity of at least 100-150kg (water or sand-filled) and is equipped with heavy-duty wheels for easy relocation. For fixed installations, verify the in-ground sleeve system for easier removal or replacement.

Basketball sets are oversized and heavy items, which often leads to high ocean freight costs and potential damage during transit. To mitigate this, request reinforced 5-layer corrugated packaging and wooden crates for tempered glass components. Always clarify the Incoterms; for large volumes, FOB (Free On Board) is recommended to maintain control over shipping costs via your own forwarder.

Focus on Tiered Pricing based on volume; for example, a 15-20% discount is standard when moving from a sample order to a full container load (FCL). Request a detailed breakdown of raw material costs (steel and glass) to understand price fluctuations. Always ask for a Product Inspection Report or a factory audit video before finalizing the contract to ensure the supplier is a genuine manufacturer rather than a trading company.

Utilize Secured Trading Services provided by Made-in-China.com to ensure payment is only released upon confirmation of shipment. For large orders, use a Letter of Credit (L/C) or a 30% deposit / 70% balance against Bill of Lading (B/L) copy structure. Never wire full payments to personal bank accounts; always ensure the account name matches the registered company name on the business license.

Verify the HS Code (typically 9506.91 for general sports equipment) to calculate accurate import duties and taxes. Be aware of anti-dumping duties that may apply to steel products in certain regions. Ensure the supplier provides a Certificate of Origin (CO) to take advantage of any Free Trade Agreements (FTA) that could reduce your tax liability.
